Fire and Water are not necessarily friends. In fact, they could be considered opposites. There is something incredible and unique about these fifty-plus bonfires that float several inches above the Shenango river here in Sharon. Some people see beauty in the flames reflecting on the water while others gather energy from the proximity of the two elements. Regardless of how you react, it’s virtually impossible to describe why WaterFire events are so popular. Consider forming your own opinion and join us for one of these spectacular displays.
There are three 2015 WaterFire Sharon, PA events: July 18, August 22, and September 26. All Saturday events include a fun-filled day of interactive art & music attractions leading up to a dramatic dusk lighting ceremony on the Shenango River. Three themes for each event ensure a completely unique experience every time you visit WaterFire Sharon this summer.
Our event days kick off at noon and festival attractions include a family friendly children’s art & activity area, an artisan marketplace for original handmade items from talented craftsmen from around our region, a food court with a large variety of cuisine, from healthy organic food truck options to gourmet French fair to traditional pizza and other delicious menu options. Enjoy celebratory art experiences throughout the day with plein air artisan demos by painters, potters and more; engaging art installations; interactive street demos with actors and talented performers entertaining the crowds; and large draws to our main stage and small stages for the best in musical attractions and entertainment. Each event will feature performance dance pieces and social dance opportunities for all in attendance. Our downtown merchants and eateries welcome you indoors to see all they have to offer in their charming storefronts. Our WaterFire Sharon river lightings begin at dusk and each one is a different experience with elements of the themes below tied into the lighting presentation.
